These naughty vegan chocolate rice krispie cakes / treats are great for parties or making with the kids. They only take about 5 minutes to make too – win!
They are a great recipe to have on hand though for kids parties and the like, and we might make some with cornflakes to make little easter nests for an Easter party in a couple of weeks too.
These might be my last naughty snack post for a little while as we are really wanting to reduce the amount of sugar we eat and are currently planning lots of healthy recipes and snacks for the next weeks – so stay tuned for loads of new healthy recipes!
We used Moo Free vegan milk chocolate here, as it is by far the best vegan milk chocolate substitute we have found – and we have tried a fair few now! It’s available in the ‘Free From’ aisle in a lot of supermarkets, or from Amazon too.
Hope you enjoy these 🙂 L x
Vegan Chocolate Rice Krispie Cakes / Treats
Ingredients:
- 50g vegan butter (I use Pure soya spread)
- 100g vegan chocolate (milk or dark), broken into chunks
- 3 tbsp golden syrup
- 100g rice krispies
Directions:
- Add the butter, chocolate and golden syrup to a bowl and melt in short bursts in the microwave (stirring really often so the chocolate doesn’t burn) or in bowl over a saucepan of boiling water.
- Mix the rice krispies into the chocolate mix and spoon into cupcake cases. Refrigerate until set, if you can wait that long!
Butter!
Vegan milk (what like from a vegan cow)
Milk OR chocolate
Yikes, terribly worded recipe – have amended now! Thanks for bringing to my attention! L x
Hi,
So keen to try this. What if I don’t have vegan butter? Could I substitute it with anything else?
Thanks!
