Sweet and sour tofu recipe 😍 One large block of tofu (I use cauldron cos they are the biggest) Cube and coat the tofu in cornflour, salt, and garlic powder then fry in hot oil in a pan until crisp (airfrying works well too), set aside.
Chop a pepper, 3/4 rings of pineapple, and a small carrot. Fry for about 5 mins until softened (keep adding splashes of water so it doesn’t stick and steams a bit).
To make the sauce mix the juice from the tin of pineapple with 4 tbsps sugar, 2 tbsps ketchup, 2 tbsps soy sauce and 2 tbsps rice or apple cider vinegar, a teaspoon of salt and half a cup of water. Heat in a pan.
Mix a big heaped tablespoon of cornflour with a good glug of water til it’s dissolved then add to the sauce a bit at a time, stirring continuously, until it’s as thick as you like. Add to the tofu, and veg and heat through together. Sprinkle with sesame seeds to serve – gorgeous with fried rice!
